Increased temperatures in the Swiss Alps could reveal the bodies of hundreds of mountaineers who perished decades ago. Last week, Swiss officials found the body have a German citizen who had gone missing on a hike in August 1987.
Global warming has caused the Swiss glaciers to melt roughly 900 billion liters of water over the past year. The glaciers have shrunk from 670 square miles in 1850 to 343 square miles, roughly half its size. If the current temperatures continue to increase, glaciers in Switzerland and all over the world will be nonexistent in our lifetime.
