Trump Blames Poor Relationship with Russia on Congress

Trump once again took to twitter to voice his opinions. Trump called the current relationship between America and Russia at an “all-time and very dangerous low,” but put the blame on Congress’ new sanctions bill. However, Trump failed to mention that since taking office he criticized Putin for a number of issues including the annexation of Crimea, violating an arms control treaty and for interfering in U.S. and European elections.

After Trump signed the sanctions bill on Wednesday, Russian prime minister, Dmitri Medvedev, spoke poorly of the Trump administration, “The Trump administration has demonstrated total impotence, handing over executive functions to Congress in the most humiliating way possible.” Putin helped Trump into office in the hope that he would return the favor with easing of sanctions, but this strategy has backfired and led to a deteriorating relationship between the two countries.
