Outspoken Trump supporter, Geoff Diehl, launched his bid to unseat Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) on Wednesday in front of his home crowd at a VFW hall. Diehl joins a list of Republican candidates who seek to upset the heavily popular and liberal Warren, who’s current favorable rating is at 55%.
Speaking with a populist tone, Diehl talked about Lowell’s mills, Brockton’s shoe factories and New Bedford’s whaling industry, harking back to Trump’s strategy of targeting the working middle-class. Diehl will need lots of support from the far right if he wants to unseat Warren when Trump’s approval ratings are a dismal 34%.
