White House Worked with Fox News and Donor to Push Death of DNC Staffer

The White House worked with Fox News and an undisclosed Republican donor to push a story about the death of Democratic National Committee staffer Seth Rich, according to a lawsuit filed on Tuesday.

The lawsuit was filed against Fox News commentator Rod Wheeler, who alleges that Fox News and the Trump donor sought to deflect public attention from the administration’s ties with Russia. A Fox News reporter created quotations and attributed them to Wheeler in order to propel her story and to advance President Trump’s agenda, according to the lawsuit. Back in May, a story about Seth Rich’s death linked his murder to the staffer’s work at the DNC and his intention to deliver damaging emails about Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton to WikiLeaks.

There was no evidence which suggests that Rich had any inside knowledge of the hacking of the DNC, but was picked up by Fox News anyway in order to cover the public’s eyes from Russia’s meddling in the election.
