Boston Considering Safe Sites for Opioid Drug Users

Lawmakers in Boston have contemplated the idea of creating safe sites for opioid users. These site would not inject people or provide them with the drugs, they will however, ensure that users do not overdose and die. A safe site created in Vancouver, Canada saw a 35% reduction in people who died by overdose to opioids, which would translate to 700 saved lives in Massachusetts.

Critics of the safe sites say these facilities promote people to do more opioids since they know that they will not overdose.
