White House Chief of Staff Reince Priebus has been pushed out of the White House by President Trump due to his failure to impose order on a chaos-wracked West Wing. Trump announced on Friday that he will be replaced by Secretary of Homeland Security John F. Kelly, a retired four-star Marine general.
Priebus has failed to limit the number of leaks coming out of the Trump administration and was in a recent public feud with newly appointed communications director Anthony Scaramucci.
However, several officials close to Trump have pointed out Kelly’s lack of a political background, “The president needs someone who understands the Trump constituency as his chief of staff, someone who has both administrative skills and political savvy,” said Roger Stone, Trump’s off-and-on adviser.
