Lebanese Prime Minister Saad Hariri arrived in Washington on Tuesday seeking additional U.S. aid to help deal with the flood of Syrian refugees to his home country.
Syrian refugees now make up a quarter of Lebanon’s population of six million people with the number expected to grow.
Hariri stood next to a man who sought to ban all Muslims from entering the U.S. during the election and has effectively banned all Syrian refugees from migrating to America. Any promises or insurances that Trump gave Hariri were nothing more than empty statements which are unlikely to materialize.
