Senate Rejects Measure to Repeal Much of ACA

0 for 2. The Senate rejected a measure that would have repealed Obamacare and institute a two-year delay for lawmakers to develop a substitute, indicating that Republicans can only make modest changes to the current law.

Moderate Republicans instead of hard-line conservatives were those against the measure to repeal Obamacare outright including John McCain (R-AZ) and Lamar Alexander (R-TN). McConnell’s final chance at passing Republican healthcare legislation will be through the “skinny repeal” strategy.
